Five rooms,twenty seatsat breakfast.

Familie Nieuwschepen, at the foot of the “Südharzer Brocken”. Our own car park, house bar, terrace facing the forest.

We are not on the edge of the Harz. We are right in the middle of it, only quieter.

Wieda is a village strung along one road through the Wiedatal, part of the municipality of Walkenried, with more forest track than pavement. Above it stands the Stöberhai at 720 metres — the “Südharzer Brocken”. A few kilometres further on, the Harz National Park begins.

The Wiedaer Hütte is a house with five rooms, run by Familie Nieuwschepen. No reception desk behind glass, but a wood-panelled breakfast room with twenty seats, a house bar with a beer tap and a terrace on the garden side, with the forest starting right behind it.

Parking is free, in our own car park in front of the house. With the HATIX guest card the bus is free across the whole Harz; by car, almost every destination in the Harz is a good hour away. Which of them is worth your day, we work out at the breakfast table.
